Masia Casa del Mar: The Complete Guide to a Seaside Wedding Near Sitges

Pool deck with sea views at Masia Casa del Mar, a wedding venue on the Garraf coast near Sitges

Written by Jordi Dalmau, Spain destination wedding photographer. Last update September 2026

Masia Casa del Mar is a whitewashed estate on the Garraf coast in Sant Pere de Ribes, just outside Sitges, with an infinity pool over the Mediterranean, a ceremony area stepping down toward the sea and room for up to 350 guests.

My team photographed Alexandre and Sergi’s wedding here in September 2026, and this is the guide I would want before booking it: every space, the real numbers, and the one timing mistake I would never let a couple repeat.

Still comparing venues? I also keep a guide to the best wedding venues near Barcelona, and a bigger one to the best wedding venues in Spain.

Where Is Masia Casa del Mar and What Makes It So Special?

Masia Casa del Mar sits at Carrer de la Talaia 1, in Sant Pere de Ribes, on the edge of the Garraf Natural Park, a short drive from Sitges and about forty minutes from Barcelona.

The house is the whole point. White walls, arched terraces, terracotta rooflines, polished concrete inside, and the sea at the bottom of almost every view. It sits on the hillside above the water, wrapped in pines, so it feels like a private house on the coast rather than an events hall.

One thing to get right from the start: it is not on the Sitges seafront, and you will not walk out onto a beach. It sits above the sea, inside the Garraf Natural Park, which is exactly why it feels so quiet. Sitges does the rest, with the town, the beaches and the restaurants for your guests’ whole weekend (Sitges tourism has the practical side). You can also see every space on the venue’s own website.

What Wedding Spaces Does Masia Casa del Mar Offer?

Masia Casa del Mar offers a ceremony area by the sea for up to 200 guests, the Aire pool terrace, the Mar and Cielo dining spaces, a patio, a chill out area and six suites.

Here is how each one works on the day, because at this house the layout decides your timeline more than anything else.

The Ceremony Area: Chairs Stepping Down to the Sea

The ceremony happens outdoors, on a slope that steps down toward the water, with guests seated on different levels and the Mediterranean right behind you. The venue lists it for up to 200 guests.

It is the frame everyone books this place for, and it earns it: nobody at the back loses the view, because the levels do the work for you. What you need to plan is the sun, and I will come back to that below, because it is the biggest lesson from our wedding here.

Aire: The Infinity Pool Terrace

Aire is built around an infinity pool that lines up with the horizon, and it is where the cocktail hour lives. The venue lists it for up to 230 guests standing or 140 seated.

Guests drift between the pool edge, the wooden deck and the shade of the pines. At Alexandre and Sergi’s wedding this is where the aperitif happened, under parasols, with the sea behind every conversation.

Mar and Cielo: Where Dinner Happens

For the banquet you have two main options. Mar is the indoor space, connected directly to Aire, with sea views and room for up to 240 seated. Cielo is outdoors and it is the big one, up to 350 seated or 400 standing.

Alexandre and Sergi seated their guests inside the marquee on purpose: it was a hot September day, and many of their guests were coming from France and not used to that heat. Worth thinking about if your date falls in July, August or early September.

The Patio and the Chill Out Area

The patio connects to Aire and is the flexible corner: a relaxed zone, space for the kids, or an outdoor dance floor. There is also a chill out area among the palm trees, which the venue lists for up to 190 people.

At our wedding the party came back outside after dinner, next to the pool, with the DJ and the lights. It is a lovely way to end the day: you finish where the cocktail started, only now with the house lit up behind you.

The Suites: Getting Ready in the House

The house has six suites with sea views and their own terraces. That is where you get ready, and it changes the whole morning: no hotel room, no driving, just the upstairs of the house with your people around you.

Alexandre and Sergi got ready upstairs, each with their own family. Six suites will not house your whole guest list, but they are perfect for the two of you and your closest people.

How Many Guests Can Masia Casa del Mar Host?

Masia Casa del Mar hosts up to 350 guests seated and 400 standing, with the ceremony area by the sea taking up to 200. Our wedding here had around 130 guests.

Here are the numbers the venue publishes, space by space:

  • Ceremony area: up to 200 guests
  • Aire (pool terrace): 230 standing, 140 seated
  • Mar: 340 standing, 240 seated
  • Cielo (outdoors): 400 standing, 350 seated
  • Chill out area: up to 190

If your guest list is over 200, ask how they set up the ceremony, because the sea-view area is the one listed for 200.

Where these figures come from: the capacities are the venue’s own, from its website in September 2026. The guest count and the timings are from the wedding my team photographed here. Minimum numbers and per-day rules are not published, so ask the events team for your date.

What Is the Catering Like at Masia Casa del Mar?

Masia Casa del Mar works with a network of regular vendors, and Alexandre and Sergi used Chef Lechef for the catering and Sandworks for the DJ, both suppliers the house works with often.

What I cannot tell you is whether any of them are exclusive, or whether you can bring your own caterer. The venue does not say it on its website, so make it one of your first questions. It moves your budget more than almost anything else.

The couple chose that route on purpose: suppliers who already know the house and know each other, and coordinate among themselves. If you do not want to manage anything on the day, that is exactly what you want.

What Is Included in a Masia Casa del Mar Wedding?

Masia Casa del Mar gives you the estate and its spaces, six sea-view suites, an events team to guide you and its network of partner vendors. Each wedding is quoted individually.

  • The estate and its spaces: ceremony area, Aire, Mar, Cielo, the patio and the chill out area
  • Six suites with sea views and private terraces
  • An events team that advises you through the planning
  • Partner vendors who already know the house

Ask them to confirm three things in writing: whether the estate is yours alone that day, what time the music has to stop, and whether VAT is included in the price they quote.

What Are My Insider Tips for a Masia Casa del Mar Wedding?

My biggest tip for Masia Casa del Mar is to plan your timeline around the sun, not the clock: hold the ceremony late enough that the cocktail hour ends at sunset.

Do not hold the ceremony at midday. Our wedding here was too much of a day wedding. The ceremony was at 13:30, in full sun, and honestly everyone was roasting. The view is still there at six in the evening, only now nobody is squinting.

Let the cocktail hour end at sunset. In mid-September the sun sets around 8 pm on this coast, and in June after 9:30 pm. Work backwards: ceremony about two and a half hours before sunset, cocktail by the infinity pool, dinner as the light goes. You get the best light of the day on the pool terrace, which is the reason you chose this place.

In high summer, plan for shade anyway. Parasols at the cocktail, water at the ceremony, and a covered dinner if many of your guests are not used to the heat.

Book the suites for the people who matter most. Six rooms go fast. Keep them for the two of you and your closest family, and put everyone else in Sitges.

Keep the decor light. This is a white house over a blue sea. Alexandre and Sergi kept everything white and minimal so the house stayed the star, and it works.

Where Do Wedding Guests Stay Near Masia Casa del Mar?

Masia Casa del Mar has six suites on site, so you can sleep there with your closest family, and the rest of your guests stay in Sitges, a short drive away.

That split works really well. Sitges is the kind of town guests fall for, with beaches, restaurants and a proper old town, so the wedding turns into a weekend without you organizing anything extra. Book a hotel block early if your date falls between June and September, because the town fills up. And plan the ride back at the end of the night: a shuttle beats a hundred guests hunting for taxis on a hillside.

What Did a Real Wedding at Masia Casa del Mar Look Like?

Alexandre and Sergi got married at Masia Casa del Mar on September 12, 2026, with around 130 guests, and my team photographed the whole day, from getting ready upstairs to the party by the pool.

They described what they wanted in three words: celebration, Mediterranean and elegant. So the design stayed white and minimal, with no big floral arches and no loud colors, and the house did the talking.

The timeline was: ceremony at 13:30 on the terraces above the sea, aperitif by the infinity pool under the pines, dinner in the marquee from around 16:30, and back out by the pool at 18:00 for the DJ and the lights, until about 11 pm.

If I could change one thing about that day, it would be the clock. That is why my first tip above is about the sun.

What Should Your Masia Casa del Mar Photographer Know?

A photographer at Masia Casa del Mar has to handle a lot of white and a lot of sun: the walls bounce hard midday light, and the sea is brightest right when most ceremonies happen.

That is why timing matters so much here. In the late afternoon the white walls turn warm, the pool goes silver and the pines give soft shade instead of hard shadows. At blue hour, when the house lights come on, the facade is one of the best frames on this whole coast.

Plan the portraits for the last hour of light, around the pool and the arched terraces, and keep ten minutes after sunset for the facade. If you are still looking, this is the kind of place where a Barcelona wedding photographer who knows the coast makes a real difference.

Is Masia Casa del Mar Right for Your Wedding?

Masia Casa del Mar is right for couples who want a white, Mediterranean house over the sea, a relaxed but elegant day, and Sitges on the doorstep for the weekend.

It works best for weddings of around 100 to 200 guests, where the ceremony terraces and the pool feel full and alive. If you want a castle, big drama or sand under your feet, this is not your place, and that is fine.

Consider Masia Casa del Mar if you want:

  • Sea views from the ceremony, the cocktail and the dinner
  • A house that looks good with almost no decoration
  • Getting ready in the same place you get married
  • A town like Sitges for your guests’ weekend

Comparing nearby options? Mas Solers is in the same municipality and Gran Villa Rosa is just behind Sitges. You will find both in my list of the best wedding venues near Barcelona. Or just say hi and I will check your date.
